Charnwood is home to a number of aerospace engineering companies including Preci-Spark and Dunlop / Meggitt. The University has a strong Department of Aeronautical Engineering. The Systems Engineering Innovation Centre (SEIC) is a unique £60million collaboration between BAE Systems, Loughborough University and the East Midlands Development Agency (emda).
