    Charnwood Borough Council's Environmental Health Services aims to provide a safe and healthy environment for people at work. We enforce health and safety legislation in certain types of work places in the Borough - currently over 2,400 premises.

    Information on the Health Act 2006 that requires from 1st July 2007 that virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England will become smokefree.

    We are a small team of qualified Environmental Health Officers and Technical staff set up to enforce various environmental laws on behalf of Charnwood Borough Council. We also carry out work to assess and manage some forms of environmental pollution within Charnwood, specifically in relation to air pollution and contamination of land from historical industrial use.
