Charnwood Borough Council - Charnwood Business

How to Pay Your Bill

A ratepayer will normally be offered the opportunity to pay the rate bill over ten monthly installments - installments are due on the first day of each month from April to the following January inclusive (direct debit installments are claimed on the 14th day of each month). Where a bill is issued after April, however, fewer installments will be available.

Direct Debit - The Easy Way to Pay

Paying your bill by direct debit is simple, easy and convenient. Provided you have a suitable Bank or Building Society account it can save you time and effort. Using direct debit means not having to write out a cheque, no paperwork to complete each time you pay and no queuing at the Council offices, Bank or Post Office. You also don't need to remember when payment is due - your Bank or Building Society will do all the work for you.

Please telephone the Rates Office on (01509) 634833 and ask for a Direct Debit Instruction to be sent to you.

Direct Debit is an efficient and above all secure method of payment and you are guaranteed an immediate refund if any errors should occur. If your payment needs changing the Rates Office will notify you at least 10 days in advance of payment and remember, youre free to cancel at any time.
